Aeschbacher was specified in painting and drawing adding sculpting in 1936. Inspired by Greek and Egyptian sculpture, he initially created portraits, figures and torsos in bronze and later in stone.
The sculptor, painter and draughtsman of Greek descent was a student of R. C. Andersen and F. Wotruba. He became a member of the Secession in 1968 and was a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna from 1968 to 1992.
