Judith Fegerl

1977 (Vienna), lives and works in Vienna.

Fegerl studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna (Peter Kogler, Birgit Jürgenssen) and at the University of Applied Arts Vienna (Karel Dudesek, Thomas Fürstner, Peter Weibel).

In her spatial installations, the media artist repeatedly sets physical, chemical and electrical processes in motion, for which she designs specific apparatus. Fegerl uses energy as a material that is visualized in her artistic works. The often simultaneous visualization of time also plays an important role. It is not the formulation of a form that is important to her, but rather the visualization of systems and relationships. The artist is concerned with what lies beneath the visible, the deep layers of architecture, spaces, surfaces and landscapes.
