Neue Galerie Graz As one of the largest and most important in the country, the collection of the Neue Galerie Graz with the BRUSEUM comprises more than 70,000 works by Austrian and international artists from the 19th century to the present, from a wide variety of media, from regionally to internationally important positions.

1941
Separation of the Landesbildergalerie into the Alte Galerie and the Neue Galerie and transfer of the collection to the Palais Herberstein in Sackstraße. While the collection of the Alte Galerie included art up to 1800, the Neue Galerie took over the holdings of the 19th and 20th centuries.
2011
In the course of the reconstruction of the Joanneum Quarter, the Neue Galerie Graz in the museum building at Neutorgasse 45 was architecturally linked with the historic Joanneum buildings in Raubergasse, which are home to the Natural History Museum and the CoSA - Center of Science Activities.
