Born in 1959 in Innsbruck and now living in Vienna, artist Peter Kogler is known for his significant vocabulary of forms. Universally applicable motifs like the brain, ants or the globe, alongside structures of tubes and nets, form the basis of many of his works. Alongside his objects, pictures and spatial installations, since the nineties a number of extended, moving projections have also been created.
Peter Kogler’s works have been exhibited at venues including Mudam Luxembourg (2010), Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt (2010), MUMOK Vienna (2008), Kunsthaus Bregenz (2000), the 46th Biennale in Venice (1995), documenta X (1997) and documenta IX (1992).
From 1993 till 2005, Peter Kogler taught at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and, since 2008, he has held a professorship at the Academy of Fine Arts, Munich.
