There are 16 mountain pastures in Altaussee. The Blaa Alm, where the Steffler hut stood, is one of the 8 low mountain pastures in Altaussee. The Freller family, the last owners of this alpine hut, had alpine rights for 8 head of cattle, which were written down on the hut, as the landowner is the Austrian Federal Forests. In addition, there is also an alpine timber utilisation right, which includes construction, firewood and fence wood.
