The barn is built from logs in a log construction. The barn, which is accessed by a gate on both gable ends, served as a shelter for the cattle on the mountain pasture in bad weather and at night until 1964. Hay was stored in the room under the roof for bad weather days. The steep raftered roof is covered with shingles.
