The small brick building was placed so close to the house that the protruding roofs of the house and barn covered the path from the house entrance to the pigsty. The farmer's wife was therefore able to bring the pig feed from the kitchen to her charges in rainy weather without getting wet.

The small pigsty is a good example of a functional and formally successful addition of a functional building to a residential building.
