The small brick-built place of worship is sheltered by a tent roof covered with shingles. In the niche, which is enclosed by a wrought-iron grille, there is a physical ‘mercy seat’, as this representation of the Trinity is called. In the Catholic Church, it symbolises redemption through the death of Jesus Christ on the cross.
