About the
Exhibition

For thousands of years, people have wondered whether there are other intelligent beings ‘out there’. The question of the other stems from man's reflection on himself, on his essence. ATOROT wants to look at itself from a higher perspective in search of the essence of the machine.

Visitors move across a flow chart consisting of various codes. By photographing the codes, questions from the fields of human, machine and logical-technical intelligence are sent to them on a smartphone, which they have to answer with ‘yes’ or ‘no’. After making a decision, the participants are forwarded to a new playing field where they are asked another question, then they move on to the next playing field and so on. The selected answers are transferred to ATOROT, where the decisions are converted into words. The result is a man/machine poem that can be heard in the stairwell of the Kunsthaus Graz.
