The BIX Media Facade becomes an interactive game console, and mobile phones become controllers. All mobile phone owners are invited to "pixelate" individual light messages on the BIX Facade by calling a free phone number to activate a pixel on the facade, move it using the number keys and thus leave their personal contribution on the surface of the Kunsthaus Graz. Over time, the pixels fade and make way for new visual "works of art". Whether these are signs, patterns or other messages and whether the players work alone, together or against each other is up to them. As the game can also be played via the Internet (Bixcam), the circle of players is open to the outside world and there are no (local) limits to creativity.
The idea for this project comes from the German video artist John Dekron, who developed the game. The technical implementation is being carried out together with A1, the product brand of Austria's leading mobile phone provider mobilkom austria, the ideal cooperation partner for this innovative project at the interface of media art and communication technology. The prominent position of the Kunsthaus architecture in the old town of Graz promises intensive public awareness!
