From March, answers to the question "What is inter / trans / non-binary / diverse / female / male / ... for you?" will be displayed on the BIX Facade. This will be asked via an Instagram survey and distributed via other social media. The two media artists will update the content on the light facade on a weekly basis. The anonymized answers on the BIX will not be assignable to any gender identity because the project is intended to contribute to questioning and dissolving rigid gender roles.
The survey answers will also form the basis for the online event on Tuesday, March 30 at 6 pm. The guiding question for the conversation will be: What does a society in which there are no gender stereotypes look like and how would that manifest itself in everyday life? In addition to Ines Handler and Jona Lingitz, both of whom see themselves as cis people, Luan Pertl, intersex activist at the Association of Intersex People Austria (VIMÖ) and Alexander Joa Reif (Rosa-Lila-Panther*innen) will also take part in the discussion.
EXIT GENDER was originally a multimedia installation and has already been shown as such in public spaces (HALLE FÜR KUNST Steiermark, Designforum).
