About the
Event

In 1994, Zoom was established as the first children’s museum in Austria. With programmes for refugees and an exhibition on the topic of escape and flight, the museum once again this year reflects the current reality and takes a very specific approach to the topic for its special audience. Based upon this, we would like to outline what museums can generally learn and do if they want to be there for their children and adolescent visitors: How and where can these young people be reached? How should topics and/or a new target group be approached when museums have traditionally never been responsible for these – for instance, within their own collections? What concepts and programmes are appropriate for different age groups and biographical backgrounds? What experiences are there with adequate language and design language?
