About the
Project

This minimalist sculpture unequivocally refers to a specific landscape. On the one hand, the object obstructs our view of the scenery like a wall. On the other hand, it opens our view up like a viewing window.

Fritz Ganser

far-sight

The inseparable connection between an artwork in public space and the place where it is located only rarely becomes as obvious as in this case. Fritz Ganser’s minimalist sculpture weit-blick (far-sight) unequivocally refers to a specific landscape. On the one hand, the object obstructs our view of the scenery like a wall. On the other hand, it opens our view up like a viewing window. Moreover, the text attached to it explains, sometimes poetically, sometimes objectively, what we can recognize in this landscape. As a result, this “image of a landscape” develops on several levels.
