This annual exhibition focuses on the rural working year and its customs, festivals and celebrations. Hard farm labour and its structuring through customs and larger or smaller festivals once ensured a good balance between work and leisure. Due to secularisation, market society and the loss of tradition, seasonal festivals have become less and less important.
In the past, orientation and structure were of existential importance in the rhythm of life. A rhythmic way of life that helps to save energy.
The thematic focus used figures and text panels to illustrate the interplay between work, leisure and festivities, such as harvesting, threshing, spinning, breaking and more.
