The Bundwerkstadel was once the barn wing of a four-sided Innviertel farmstead, where, in contrast to the Vierkanthof, the four wings of the farmstead are organised around an inner courtyard, but are not built together.

The barn is a remarkable example of a skeletal structure, with vertical and horizontal squared timbers forming the skeleton of the building. The squared timbers are stiffened by numerous struts in the form of ‘St Andrew's crosses’ and thus statically secured. The room is closed off from the outside by board panelling. The flat-pitched purlin roof is covered with shingles.
