About the
Exhibition

The collaboration between the Universalmuseum Joanneum, in particular the Neue Galerie Graz, and steirischer herbst in the field of fine arts is a long-standing tradition that stretches back to 1967. In this year a series of cultural events hosted by the province of Styria took place with the participation of the Neue Galerie Graz, one year before the official founding of the festival with the title steirischer herbst. Since then, the Neue Galerie Graz and steirischer herbst have collaborated on more than 130 projects. A comprehensive cooperation last took place in 2022 artistically directed by Ekaterina Degot with the exhibition titled Ein Krieg in der Ferne (A Far-Off War). This is to be continued in 2024 by the Neue Galerie in the form of a joint exhibition project.
