With their first collectively created film, HALF OF THE SKY, the Golden Pixel Cooperative (GPC) won the prize for innovative cinema at the Diagonale, the festival for Austrian Film, in 2021.
Besides the design of the festival trailer for the upcoming Diagonale ’22, an artistic intervention in the Kunsthaus Graz is being created.
The cooperative’s work is located at the intersection between exhibition space and cinema, always dedicated to the dialogical process of joint action. Its filmic engagements cast a queer/feminist slant on art, presenting the flowing borders between humans and nature, between surroundings and capitalocene, and take up the collective work of telling a story itself.
‘What matters to us is promoting the exchange and solidarity between artists, as well as initiating and following dialogue with different publics. We are developing collectively and associatively different formats, such as screenings, exhibitions, artist talks, discussions and publications,’ according to GPC.
