Ready-mades with Interest was sparked by a 1967 concert ticket that Rebecca Jane Arthur found in Vienna. In the film, the artist, in conversation with her father, explores the Austrian socio-political backdrop of the music played that night – spanning from the Strauss family’s waltz era to the rise of fascism and the stain it left on today’s politics. The ticket and her father‘s letter become ‘ready-mades with interest’ which spark a contemplation on how past and present day intertwine. While reflecting on the ticket, the film becomes a touching portrait of her father.
Sound Mix: Michel Coquette
