The Architectures of Life exhibition, which can be seen in Space03 at the Kunsthaus Graz in July and August 2023, is aimed at all visitors who want to explore the possibilities of social inclusion through and with art. The opening will take place as part of the Week of Inclusion on 4 July 2023.
The starting point for the works on display is the spectacular organic architecture of the Kunsthaus. The following questions are linked to this: How are the spaces around us designed? How do they affect us and we in them?
As part of the INARTdis research project, six groups of participants aged between 6 and 40 explored the topic of architecture.
Coordinated by the University College of Teacher Education Styria, projects were developed in cooperation with the Universalmuseum Joanneum at the Kunsthaus Graz, the Neue Galerie Graz, the Natural History Museum and the Schloss Eggenberg Archaeological Museum.
This inclusive cultural project on the architecture of life was developed in a participatory process with various project partners (Praxisvolksschule Graz Hasnerplatz, VS St. Johann/Graz, ASO Fürstenfeld, MS Deutschfeistritz, Lebenshilfe Randkunst and students on the TTG programme at the PHSt).
On display are different approaches and three-dimensional realisations such as dream houses, wire sculptures, residential communities, an archaeological profile or a multi-sensory designed space. The exhibition is complemented by two-dimensional works such as woodcuts. The results of these project realisations and the process of their development are presented in this exhibition at Kunsthaus Graz.
What all the works have in common is that they are designed to be accessible to all people and aim to promote social inclusion in the cultural sector through creative processes. In addition, interactive offers invite visitors to help shape this exhibition.
