In the "International Year of Light", the Universalmuseum Joanneum and Energie Graz are collaborating on a unique project idea: from 28.10. to 15.11.2015, for the first time, you can light up the BIX Facade of the Kunsthaus Graz on your own initiative and regardless of location, display messages and win a lot in the process.
Anyone who would like to take part in the project can simply sponsor a light point free of charge at www.lichtpate.at.
Sending luminous messages into the city is a specialty of the BIX Facade at the Kunsthaus Graz: 953 points of light can be individually controlled and can radiate complex patterns and messages into the urban space. This urban screen will become a public communication medium for two weeks in 2015, the "International Year of Light": anyone who takes on a free "sponsorship" for one of these light points on the website www.lichtpate.at can use this pixel at any time, switch it on or off or let it flash from the comfort of their own home. In addition, the sponsor of a pixel can send a personal message on the topic of "light" to the city via the BIX Facade during the project period (28.10.-15.11.2015).
All sponsors automatically take part in a competition and can win attractive prizes associated with the individual pixels, such as vouchers for the Kunsthaus café, Joanneum tickets, Kunsthaus architecture guides, special guided tours for families, 100 days of free energy for Energie Graz customers, 100 hours with the BMWi3, a 100-euro credit in the online store and much more. The winners will be announced at the end of the campaign.
Action day with free admission to Kunsthaus Graz
As the highlight of the project, all the light points for which sponsorship has been taken will light up together on the day of the campaign - November 15th. There is also free entry to the Kunsthaus Graz for all visitors on this day.
