In addition to this multi-part installation, Jennifer Mattes is also the author of the Diagonale'21-Trailer.
"Both in the films I make and in the installations, I collect a lot of things and let them grow together into a montage. Overall, the trailer for the Diagonale and also my installation throughout the building are about fundamental themes such as longing or desire. Using the finds, which I then process as props, I search for memories. These also include films like Rainer Werner Fassbinder's Petra von Kant or Titanic, which intertwine in our subconscious memory spaces: an underworld, a Hades, is reflected."
