About the
Project

Following the performance, in which Lisa D and Angelika Fink talk about the "fulfilment journey" of the textiles and the documentary journey of the five-person research team to fulfilment and logistics centres in Poland, set pieces remain as an installation in the Needle.

What does a returns logistics centre have to do with fulfilment?

The current work by Lisa D and Angelika Fink tells a story that is as poetic as it is enlightening. At the centre is a textile sculpture created by Lisa D and her team from fashion returns. The returned items of clothing, which were sewn in the process, come from a still-expanding mega-industry based in Poland - shipping and returns logistics - whose centres bear the screaming name "fulfilment". When this work, which combines installation, performance and film work, uses recorded interviews to ask what fulfilment is, the answers take the audience on a journey of research into cycles of a different kind. The living and working duo Lisa D and Wilfried Prantner kicked things off with their projects Flaschenpost and Become A-Ware. They sewed GPS trackers, small devices that provide information about the whereabouts of items of clothing that they send back as returns: Let the thriller begin.

Following the performance on 21.10.2022, in which Lisa D and Angelika Fink talk about the "fulfilment journey" of the textiles and the documentary journey of the five-person research team to fulfilment and logistics centres in Poland, set pieces will remain as an installation in the Needle: videos, photos and a textile sculpture can be viewed in the Kunsthaus until 30.10.; on 26.10. workshop participants can continue sewing under the guidance of Lisa D (on the sculpture).
