Project Space. 2013–2014
This catalogue is published on the occasion of the Project Space series 2013-2014
ohne Titel (Projektraum), 2013, was a work of the artists Eric Kläring and Heimo Zobernig, who – entirely in the spirit of the interdisciplinary work of Zobernig and his blurring the bounderies between various art disciplines – fulfilled a dual function: besides its existence as a temporary sculpture, it also functioned as a small exhibition surface, which was dedicated to the presentation of young art for the duration of one year. The space, restricted to not quite 10 square metres, posed a great challenge for the exhibiting artists. As varied as the approaches were, every artist was obliged to deal intensively with the spatial conditions prevailing. Thus the projects entered into a dialogue with the sculptures found there, questioning, measuring, extending or exploding them. And so inevitably a discourse arose as to what comprises classic media, and where sculpture – which as can be observed has very much shifted into focus in contemporary exhibition activity – finds itself today.
With projects by Karl Salzmann, Ulrike Königshofer, Michaela Grill, Rosmarie Lukasser, Cäcilia Brown and Dino Zrnec
