Exhibition catalogue

At the beginning of the bicentenary of Darwin's birth, the Kunsthaus Graz is exhibiting the large-format video installations of Californian artist Diana Thater, which analyse the complexity of nature and its relationship with mankind. The exhibition catalogue presents her new work, gorillagorillagorilla, premiered in Kunsthaus Graz. It is a study of human and animal behavior and the artist's further investigation of the medium of video as an image production tool capable of creating impressive spatial and visual environments.

Along with introductory texts by curators Peter Pakesch and Adam Budak, the publication includes contributions by Bergit Arends, Frans B. M. de Waal, Laurence A. Rickels, Giorgio Agamben, and Jason Smith. The pictorial section comprises both installation shots from the Kunsthaus Graz and a photographic essay by Diana Thater with pictorial material generated during the filming of gorillagorillagorilla in Cameroon.
