The catalogue accompanying the exhibition Bittersweet Transformation presents the oeuvres rooted in sculpture of three women artists from almost three different generations. Essays by Katrin Bucher Trantow and Martina Pachmanová discuss the sculptural works, photographs, and films of Alina Szapocznikow—a preeminent sculptor of the post-war era whose oeuvre is being rediscovered—Kateřina Vincourová, and Camille Henrot, exploring the paradoxes of bodily existence: Eros and Thanatos, strength and transience, object and subject, fetish and commodity.

The texts and illustrations shed light on the body as the foundation and projection screen of all existence and the source of all that can be shaped and perceived.
