The Kunsthaus Graz is celebrating a fifth birthday. For a young institution, that is not without importance. Five years is not long, of course, but it is enough for a place like this to make its mark in a city. The "Friendly Alien", as its architects benevolently called it from the first, has done well in attracting attention in Graz. It has proved itself not only as an urban planning gesture and architectural monument but has also succeeded internationally in the art world. The book 2003-2008 Kunsthaus Graz wants to document that and the daily life in it. We want to show how this building has an effect on the surroundings, how we work with it, who comes to us, etc. There is a wide range of material available for this - from the press, visitors' books, catalogues, statistics, documentation, and so forth.
