Aldo Giannotti

Viral, 2020

Aldo Giannotti's Viral is a graphic reflection on the time of the lockdown in spring 2020. Originally published as regular Instagram posts, Giannotti comments on both political action and everyday life, which was marked by government recommendations, drastic measures, fantastic everyday comedy and growing uncertainty.

The book was published as a 70-page fanfold in cooperation with the Kunsthaus Graz by Verlag für moderne Kunst. When the lockdown was declared again in late autumn 2020, the artist continued his graphic commentaries via Instagram.
For the annual edition of the Kunsthaus, various motifs from this second series have been enclosed as original drawings in the format 14.5 x 18.5 cm in a total of 20 artist's books.
