Opening of the project SOIL WALL GARDEN by STRL_ (Shō Alexander Murayama and Samuel Collins) in the context of OPEN FIELDS – Art and Agriculture.
STRL_ (Strollological Technical Research Laboratory) is a work technique invented by Shō Alexander Murayama (*1994) and Samuel Collins (*1994) in 2019 after their studies at the Royal Danish Academy in Copenhagen. Its goal is to explore the theory of „strolling research” by extending the practice of walking. Research and intervention are the tools with which STRL_ questions the relationship between body and space, as well as the human position in agriculture and ecology.
The works by the artist duo have been presented in museums in Denmark, Germany and Austria.
