As part of the project OPEN FIELDS - Art andAgriculture, the Institute for Art in Public Space Styria invited farmers to open their farms forart projects. In an open call, 12 diverse projects by national and international artists wereselected for realization on various Styrian farms.
Among them the Austrian composer and pianist Katharina Klement, who convinced with anacoustic soil investigation, which was carried out as a sound walk with listening stations. In the process, she recorded sounds and noises at the farm and in its surroundings, as well asconducting interviews with numerous local people, thus creating a sound archive. Klement's project was implemented around the horse farm Mühlberger Gut of Eva Schartner in Altaussee, who breeds endangered animals and keeps horses, ponies and mother cows.
Participate in the Ecophony project by recording and uploading a relevant sound or voicerecording on one or more of the station topics, for example with your smartphone. The audio contributions are selected by Katharina Klement, continuously uploaded and canthen be accessed via QR code of Station 14.
After the project has ended (autumn 2024), they can also be heard on the website www.kioer.at.
