In 2022, Vienna-based artist Alfred Lenz erected a grid wall along the busy Landstrasse 201 in Studenzen, which is used as a gallery for banners. Every year, art programs can be seen on this counter-design to the familiar advertising spaces in public areas.
It is one of the few examples of how contemporary art is made accessible to a wider audience in rural areas - after all, it is estimated that more than four million vehicle passengers and passers-by see the banners over the course of the year.
In 2025, four exhibitions are planned, each lasting three months and featuring four artists from many different generations.
The first one started on January 15:
Haras Ananas with the work es gibt nur a ... (2024), Katrin Plavčak with Rembrandt Bugatti (2023), Franz Schubert with Hasi (2024) and Wolfgang Zeindl with LOST (2024).
