The thirty-five aluminum boxes with mirrors and colored glass panes on the central village square of Stattegg near Graz are mounted on all building façades around the entire square. They involve the space and its users through plays of light and reflections. It is not consumption with its logos that defines the village square, but mouth-blown glass panes and the immaterial play of light from the different refractive arrangements. Therefore, the sculpture itself is much more than the material attachments.
The installation emerged as the winning project from a competition organized by the Institute for Art in Public Space Styria.
