Ich Sigfried Uiberreither Landeshauptmann (I Sigfried Uiberreither governor)

Inscribed in an arch of the Burgtor in Graz, Sigfried Uiberreither (1908-1984), Governor and Reich Governor (Reichsstatthalter) of Styria, asks questions. Questions that Jochen Gerz has him pose to passers-by and tourists at the present and former seat of the provincial governor. Questions from a National Socialist perpetrator about the complicity and silence of the others, the majority, not only at the time of the crimes, but afterwards. He says: Without you I would not have become Sigfried Uiberreither. This project, which came about as a unanimous initiative of the Styrian Parliament and the government, is exemplary for Styria and beyond.

The inscription is the starting point of a commemorative work with the help of the Styrian public and its authorship: 63 Years After (63 Jahre danach).
