Esther Stocker took the conversion and extension of the part of the building attached to the Kunsthaus at Mariahilferstraße 4 as an opportunity to redesign her wall work (Wandarbeit Nr. 19) conceived for the building's old stock, thus placing the black and white grids in new relationships.
In keeping with her geometric-rhythmic way of working, the artist produced open structures that, repeatedly and referentially fitted into the surroundings, allow for a system of expandable construction and evoke dynamic processes of seeing and perceiving.
