This catalogue is published within the context of the Chasing Max Mustermann project, which was initiated by zweintopf in Graz in 2015 and implemented together with 17 artists.

Anonymity and belonging within our society are topics called upon by the title: Max Mustermann, the German synonym for a fictional average person, which remains imaginary and possesses no individuality at all, enforced conformity without any differentiation. Chasing Max Mustermann, chasing this normative, touches on these sociopolitical dynamics, which contrast necessary diversity and polyvalency within a democratic system with simplistic categorizations.
