This catalogue is a documentation of the Borderline project in the framework of Maribor, European Capital of Culture 2023, 6.-20.10.2012
Borders and related conflicts, migratory movements and mobility, movement of goods and capital: these issues have taken on a new topicality in recent months – also in the media. Political strategies have taken on a dynamic of their own in this environment, and civil society phenomena, such as the initiatives of entire communities to prevent the deportation of integrated families, are new approaches to lived tolerance. For the Borderline project, artists and theorists were invited to reflect critically on the field of "Border and Mobility". The result was presented in the public space of Maribor, the European Capital of Culture 2012, in the Austrian cultural month of October.
