This publication documents the project ASSEMBLY #1 by the artist Pedro Cabrita Reis, which he created for the Institute of Art in Public Space Styria in 2022. The artwork is located in the woods near castle Poppendorf in Gnas.

The (furniture-)sculpture is inspired by the local brick architecture of south Styria and its grid structure. It consists of 21 benches made of brick, which are engraved with the same amount of lyrical word pairs. They create a spatial poem in the forest. This opens up a new reality and creates a basis for communication, but also introspection and serenity.
