Setting

The UNESCO World Heritage Site will be the centrepiece of SHOWING STYRIA 2025, with the State Rooms and the Planetary Room taking on their original role again as part of the multimedia exhibition: they will become the platform for the staging of a princely family.

The special exhibition at the Archaeology Museum with the working title Graz 1699 is intended to transport visitors back to the lively atmosphere of the city of Graz in the 17th century and offer an immersive erience.

The exhibition shows rare and precious coins and medals of the Princes of Eggenberg, but also provides insights into the monetary and economic history of the 17th century. In doing so, the exhibition sheds light on the monetary background against which the rise and fall of the Eggenberg dynasty took place.

The pavilions are a central component of SHOWING STYRIA. As in previous years, they provide new impetus and food for thought and reflect the themes of the show from a contemporary, artistic perspective.
