Clothes

Rural clothing of the past was primarily work clothing that had to be practical and, above all, hard-wearing. Preserved work clothes from earlier times are therefore a rarity, as they were worn for as long as possible and then mended several times until they were reused as rags or given to rag pickers. The festive and Sunday dresses have been preserved more frequently. They were only worn on certain occasions throughout the year and were often passed on to the next generation.
