HERITERRA

From nature to human and back

HERITERRA is a brand that was created as part of the EU project "PalaeoDiversiStyria", in which scientists from the fields of archaeology, botany and zoology spent over two years researching the development of agriculture from the beginning of the Neolithic period to the end of the Middle Ages in Styria and Slovenia.

HERITERRA - the name combines the English term "heritage" for (cultural) heritage with the Latin term for earth "terra" - stands not only for quality and regionality, but also for the historical diversity that has developed over thousands of years.

The HERITERRA brand stands for high-quality products and experiences that draw their identity from the local archaeological heritage. The revitalization of old cultivated plants should lead to greater biodiversity and enable local businesses to offer new and attractive products for tourism that draw their character from the local archaeological heritage. By becoming a distinctive brand of the tourist offer, these products contribute to raising awareness of the region's archaeological heritage.
