New Display

at the Agricultural Museum in Schloss Stainz

  • 19.09.2009

The new display at the Agricultural Museum develops the successful approach used at the Hunting Museum (opened at Schloss Stainz in 2006) in the close co-ordination of subject matter and presentation. This allows the subject matter, and therewith the historical agricultural objects, to be systematically presented in an informative and exciting way so as to open up new perspectives in historical contexts in the field of agriculture and forestry. This will in turn throw new light on things affecting the present. The basic theme informing the arrangement of objects and information is "food". Here, the focus is on the revolutionary ideas of Archduke Johann and the historically valuable agricultural techniques he promoted. These aspects are always viewed from a Styrian perspective - i.e. a part of the international system but retaining our small-scale agricultural structures.
